Exploring the concept of time is like a journey inside an object of cascading paths – each branching out in multiple directions. We might think that time is some universal golden rule - an underlying vibration of everything - yet we know from physics that time is closely linked to the individual.
Relativity says that time and speed are mysteriously coupled; this means that if I go fast, my time goes slow.In 'Matter Of Time' we explore our feeling of time. In doing so we created a cosmic waiting room – a non-place – where participants could get in touch with time and reflect. The room was furnished with custom-made cushions by Saga Kapna for the audience to settle into. Above them a universe of cosmic forms opened up onto a large ceiling canvas by Thomas Brodersen.
Everything was made during a two week residency. The visuals were created by me and coded to the soundscap of Sophia Sagardze. Credits: Saga Kapna, Sophia Sagaradze, Thomas Brodersen
